One of the more divisive films of last year’s Cannes Film Festival, Olivier Assayas‘ “Personal Shopper” is the director’s latest collaboration with Kristen Stewart. The duo previously paired on the celebrated, César winning “Clouds Of Sils Maria,” but this time around, they have something a bit more supernatural in mind.
Set in Paris, the ambitious story involves high fashion, spirits, and communicating with the dead. No, really. Based on the that description alone, you might understand why some didn’t roll with the film. Here’s the official synopsis:
Olivier Assayas, the internationally-acclaimed director of Clouds of Sils Maria and Summer Hours, returns with this ethereal and mysterious ghost story starring Kristen Stewart as a high-fashion personal shopper to the stars who is also a spiritual medium. Grieving the recent death of her twin brother, she haunts his Paris home, determined to make contact with him.
“Personal Shopper” opens on March 10th.
