“Dynasty”
Synopsis: Two of America’s wealthiest families feud for control over their fortunes and their children’s personal lives.
What You Need To Know: In an age of reboots, remakes and “everything old is new again,” it was only a matter of time before the seminal 1980s Aaron Spelling soap was remade. At least this particular remake is being handled with proper care at The CW; Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage of “The O.C.” and “Gossip Girl” fame developed the project, smartly diversifying and updating the series for modern day audiences with Sallie Patrick acting as showrunner. Starring Grant Show (“Melrose Place”) as tycoon Blake Carrington, Nathalie Kelley (“The Vampire Diaries”) as Cristal Flores (soon to be Carrington), and Elizabeth Gillies (“Victorious”) and James Mackay (“The Straits”) as Fallon and Steven Carrington, “Dynasty” is eager to chew up the opulent scenery and set a new standard for drama as befitting a Post-Trump reality.

“Riverdale”
Synopsis: A subversive take on the lives of the seemingly wholesome Archie and co., exploring the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath the little town of Riverdale.
What You Need To Know: Jason Blossom’s murder has been solved, but Riverdale’s rot is only now bubbling up to the surface. The CW‘s breakout season finale ended with the life of poor Fred Andrews (Luke Perry, “90210”), the only decent parent in Riverdale, hanging in the balance and the town has become divided with the collapse of the Blossom drug trade. Archie and the gang (K.J. Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch) will have to stand united in the face of small town strife. Easier said than done with Jughead (Sprouse) having fallen in with the Southside Serpents. And to top it all off, the enigmatic Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos, “All My Children,” “Queen of the South”) has been released from jail, and probably wants to have a few choice words with the boy dating his daughter…

“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”
Synopsis: A driven young woman abandons her life in New York in an attempt to find love and happiness with her ex-boyfriend in the unlikely locale of West Covina, California.
What You Need To Know: The CW‘s critical hit reached new heights when the powder keg that is the mentally unstable, driven and complicated Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom, “F**k Me Ray Bradbury”) finally blew up in the second season finale. To be honest, I don’t blame her — being dumped for God is a tough pill to swallow. However, Rebecca isn’t down for the count. Supported by her revenge squad (Donna Lynne Champlin, Vella Lovell and Gabrielle Ruiz) and bolstered by sure-to-be-catchy musical tunes, Rebecca is ready to unleash the pits of hell upon her once (unhealthily, obsessively) beloved Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III). Hold on your hats, because you haven’t seen CRAZY yet.
Release Date: October 13 on The CW.
“White Famous”
Synopsis: A young African-American comedian rises amongst the ranks of the stand-up comedy world and braces for breakout, “white,” fame. The new comedy series stars “Saturday Night Live” alum Jay Pharoah. Judging from the trailer, his transition to series will be enough to get fans to watch.
What You Need To Know: The show is from the creators of “Californication,” and has Jamie Foxx on board as one of the executive producers as well as a cast member. The show seems to be in good hands and definitely has more than a chance to be a hit for Showtime.
Release Date: Premieres October 15th on Showtime.
