12 TV Shows To Watch In December: ‘Slow Horses,’ ‘George & Tammy,’ ‘1923’ & More

Little America
Developed by Lee EisenbergEmily V. GordonKumail Nanjiani, and Academy Award winner Sian Heder (“Coda,”) and based on Epic Magazine’s photo essay series of the same name, “Little America” returns for its second season. The anthology series continues to follow the first season’s premise, following immigrant stories as they look to pursue their dreams. This season’s stars include Phylicia RashadAlan S. Kim, and Ki Hong Lee.
Release Date: Season 2 premieres December 9 on Apple TV+.

Kindred
Based on the classic and beloved novel by Octavia Butler, “Kindred” follows Mallori Johnson as Dana James, a young aspiring writer who begins to discover secrets about her family’s past while being mysteriously pulled back and forth in time to a 19th-century plantation. Adapted for television by writer and showrunner Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (“Watchmen,”) Micah StockRyan KwantenGayle RankinAustin SmithDavid Alexander KaplanSophia Brown, and Sheria Irving round out the cast. The premiere of the eight-episode series is directed by “Zola” filmmaker Janicza Bravo.
Release Date: The series premieres December 13 on Hulu.

National Treasure: The Edge of History
Originally starring Nicolas Cage in the original films, the “National Treasure” saga is getting the episodic update with “National TreasureEdge of History.” Continuing the movie’s story, only Justin Bartha is poised to make a guest appearance. Lisette Olivera, Lyndon Smith, Zuri Reed, Jake Austin Walker, Antonio Cipriano, Jordan Rodrigues, and Catherine Zeta-Jones make up the new cast. “Edge of History” follows Jess (Olivera), a brilliant young woman searching for answers about her family and embarks on an adventure to learn about the past and save a lost Pan-American treasure. 
Release Date: Season 1 premieres December 14 on Disney+.

The Recruit
In his first leading man role following his breakout performance in the Netflix “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” trilogy, Noah Centineo looks to further his credentials in the action crime thriller “The Recruit.” Created by Alexi Hawley (“The Rookie”), the series follows Centineo as Owen, a lawyer at the CIA who becomes entangled in a dangerous international affair once an asset tries to expose her relation to the agency. Aarti MannDaniel Quincy AnnohVondie Curtis-HallKristian Bruun, and more join the cast. 
Release Date: Season 1 premieres December 16 on Netflix.
