“Queer”
Luca Guadagnino, following the success of “Challengers,” releases his second film of 2024 with the Daniel Craig-led “Queer.” Guadagnino reunites with screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes, the film based on the 1985 novella of the same name by William S. Burroughs. Set in 1950s Mexico City, the film follows Lee (Craig) as he recounts his life and pursuit of a young man named Allerton. Drew Starkey, Lesley Manville, Jason Schwartzman, Henry Zaga, and Omar Apollo also star. (Read our review.)

Directed and co-written by Tim Fehlbaum, “September 5” takes place during the 1972 Munich Olympics as an American sports broadcasting crew finds itself thrust into covering the hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes. Peter Sarsgaard, John Magaro, Ben Chaplin, Leonie Benesch, and more star. (Read our review.)

The animated feature from director Gints Zilbalodis, “Flow,” premieres November 22 through Sideshow/Janus Films. Ben Stiller aims for family-oriented holiday cheer in “Nutcrackers” out November 29 on Hulu. “Sweethearts” hits the romantic comedy chord on November 28 on HBO, while “Watchmen Chapter II” plants us back in the R-rated animated world of outlawed superheroes.
