Yes, you hate the Razzies, but hey, if you can report and handle an entire six months of self-congratulatory awards shows, you can probably handle and accept a little negativity. And last night, on the eve of the Oscars, the Razzie “committee” handed out their list of 2014’s biggest losers.
Topping the list was Kirk Cameron’s reviled and self-aggrandizing “Saving Christmas,” which won Worst Picture, Worst Actor, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Screen Combo (for Cameron and his ego). Michael Bay lorded over the list too, winning Worst Director and acting awards for two of his films: Kelsey Grammer for “Transformers 4: Age of Extinction" (sharing the dishonor with three other movies) and Megan Fox from the Bay-developed-and-produced “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” Also taking "plaudits" were Cameron Diaz for “Sex Tape” and Sony’s “Annie.”
The Razzies also unveiled a Redeemer Award for those who have absolved themselves from past cinematic crimes, and this year the prize went to Ben Affleck for “Gone Girl.” Affleck won a Razzie in 2003 for “Gigli,” which swept the awards that year. Full winners list below.
