With Marvel throwing down the gauntlet and plotting “Captain America 3” to open on the same weekend as “Batman Vs. Superman,” they are revealing a tremendous amount of faith in the upcoming “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” It seems they already believe that not only will it be a hit, it will lead a third movie where anticipation will be … well, Batman and Superman-sized. And so they continue to push hard to make sure everyone checks it out in a couple of weeks.
So, to get butts in the seats they’ve unleashed some new stylized posters via ComingSoon which appropriately give the comic book treatment to the comic book movie. And then there’s yet another clip from the movie, this time featuring Captain America and his buddy Falcon doing what they do best, and headed into action.
In Marvel-verse related news, here’s something to keep in mind: so, Sebastian Stan? The Winter Soldier? He’s actually contracted for nine movies, so perhaps he’ll get a One Shot and a cameo on “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” That’s two contractual obligations right there.
Meanwhile, in an alternate universe where Marvel didn’t care about making a billion dollars, “The Avengers” might’ve been rated R. “When we submitted ‘The Avengers,’ the first couple cuts of it came back from the MPAA rated R. That happened twice,” Kevin Feige told Movies.com. “So we went back and had to make adjustments.” Specifically, they had to tweak the Agent Coulson death scene.
“Well, whenever you impale somebody from their back and the blade comes out their chest, there are issues,” Feige added.
“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” opens on April 4th. Check it clip and posters below along with two quick behind-the-scenes promos.
