Has Quentin Tarantino Found His Female Heroine For 'Inglorious Bastards'? Sure Looks It

Did Quentin Tarantino just find his Shosanna, the main French female protagonist of his upcoming WWII epic, “Inglorious Bastards”?

It sure sounds like it. According to tabloid site PurePeople in France, 25-year-old actress Melanie Laurent, “has just been selected by the American director Quentin Tarantino, to interpret the female main role of his film ‘Inglorious Bastards.’

That sounds pretty definitive, but you know how that European press is especially via Babelfish translations (they were wrong about Daniel Brühl being the main antagonist).

There is one other semi-prominent female character of her age range in the film, the colluding Frenchwoman interpreter Francesca, but Shosanna is supposed to be about 20-years old, and this lovely belle of an actress, Laurent, certainly looks the part.

Tarantino Archives say QT was looking to hire a unknown or a relative fresh face for the role of his lead, and Laurent certainly fits that bill having only been in French films including a recent WWII one called, “Days of Glory.” She looks like and hopefully she can act (we’re honestly not sure we’ve seen her before and we kind watch a lot of French films). But hey, better than some American actress trying to fumble a French accent.
