Nicolas Winding Refn and Ryan Gosling have pretty staked claim to the biggest director-leading man bromance at the moment, currently lensing their Thai-set actioner "Only God Forgives," but there's another duo who are right behind the Danish-Canadian duo in that regard.
Oren Moverman and Woody Harrelson have teamed together on two films now with war-drama "The Messenger" and "Rampart" — the latter pushing their relationship to its boundaries when Harrelson initially didn't approve of Moverman's significant editing-room deviations from James Ellroy's sprawling script only for the two to tearful reconcile after the film's Toronto premiere last year — and now, somewhat unsurprisingly, it looks like the two are plotting another reunion with Harrelson recently revealing details of a new project. “He said three words, ‘Manhattan. Murder. Mystery,’" Harrelson told ScreenDaily. "I’m in.”
It's the skimmest of details and, as far as we can tell, another new project on Moverman's plate. The past year has seen him take a few writing and possible directing gigs including "The Terrorist Search Engine," a David O. Selznick biopic, as well as a film about Beach Boys leader Brian Wilson. Either way, any word about a new project involving Moverman and Harrelson has our attention, so we hope more details surface on the project soon.
