Got a Tip?

‘Nymphomaniac’ Star Stacy Martin Joins ‘Childhood Of A Leader’ With Robert Pattinson, Scott Walker To Score

NymphomaniacIf you’ve been keeping an ear to the ground, you know that actor turned filmmaker Brady Corbet has been one worth keeping an eye on. He’s already co-written two films, and starred in the resulting movies ("Simon Killer," "The Sleepwalker"), and now he’s going behind the camera to direct his first feature. "The Childhood Of A Leader," co-written with ‘Sleepwalker’ scribe Mona Fastvold, already lined up Robert Pattinson, Tim Roth, and Berenice Bejo to star, and now has added another fast rising talent, as well a a surprising name to score the movie.

"Nymphomaniac" star Stacy Martin has joined the ambitious film, which follows a young American living in France in 1918 who encounters what is described as "the birth of a terrifying ego" in a movie that’s said to be “a chilling fable about the rise of fascism in the 20th Century.”

In a bit of genius move, Corbet has managed to nab former pop star turned studious, serious experimental singer Scott Walker to score the movie. It’s a pretty big get considering Walker tends to work at his own pace (he’s gone as long as eleven years between albums). But Walker is also adventurous, recently releasing Soused, a collaborative album with metal band Sunn O))), and we’re eager to see what he’ll come up with here. This isn’t Walker’s first time writing music for a film, as he previously scored "Scott Walker: 30 Century Man" and Leos Carax‘s "Pola X."

Needless to say, this is quickly building into one our most anticipated films for next year. Production will begin in January. [Screen Daily]
