Think that Shia LaBeouf’s maybe-too-methody approach on the set of WWII drama “Fury” was too much for the cast, some of whom reportedly butted heads with the young actor? Well, it surely wasn’t a problem for star Brad Pitt, who sung his colleague’s praises earlier this week. “Oh, I love this boy. He’s one of the best actors I’ve ever seen," Pitt said. "He’s full-on commitment, man.”
The cast of “Fury,” David Ayer’s second film of 2014 after “Sabotage,” were put through an apparently severe bootcamp. So when they got on set, Pitt, LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, Jon Bernthal, Jason Isaacs and Scott Eastwood were all a little lit up and aggro. Bernthal said earlier this year the cast was pushed hard by their director and to behave as if “this was the last movie you were ever going to make.”
Is that kind of “Fury” going to appear onscreen? We sure as hell hope so. Here’s the official synopsis.
April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.
