It looks like Danny McBride and Aziz Ansari are the latest comedy BFFs as they have signed on for their second comedy project together.
The first, announced earlier this spring, is Ruben Fleischer’s “30 Minutes Or Less.” The Black List favored script about the misadventures of pizza delivery guy on an unlikely caper is the first project that has brought together the duo of McBride and Ansari and their bromance isn’t stopping there.
According to Deadline, the duo are now set for another comedy based on a pitch by “30 Rock” writer Matt Hubbard. Harris Wittels will write the script, and with credits under his belt for “Parks & Recreation” and “Human Giant,” we’re sure Ansari can vouch for his work. Naturally, plot points are under wraps at this time but details are sure to emerge shortly.
No word on when the film will get in front of cameras but, our guess is that it will probably happen sometime next year either after Ansari’s duties for “Parks & Recreation” are in the can or even possibly filming between episodes of the show. With the script still incomplete and no director attached, production is still a bit of a way off.
Not that Ansari and McBride both aren’t busy. Ansari is set to host the MTV Movie Awards on June 6th while he will team with McBride to shoot the aforementioned “30 Minutes Or Less” this summer. Afterwards, Ansari will head back to his duties on “Parks & Recreation” while McBride will ready for the second season of “Eastbound & Down.”
