Sarah Silverman Set To Join Sarah Polley's 'Take This Waltz'

Sarah Silverman is set to join the cast of Sarah Polley’s romantic drama “Take This Waltz”, starring Seth Rogen and Michelle Williams.

The film centers on 28-year-old Margot (Williams) who finds herself caught in a love triangle with husband Lou (Rogen) and Seth, a mysterious artist who befriends Margot on a business trip. Our script review described the story as an honest and unflinching study of 20-somethings that is emotionally heavy in tone but also charming and unexpectedly very funny.

Silverman will play the sister of Rogen’s Lou who is a recovering alcoholic and, while we’re not exactly fans of the actress’ comedy, her going head to head with Rogen as siblings does sound like an interesting prospect; it’s a small, but meaty (and often emotionally heavy) role for the comedienne. The casting of two comedy actors though is definitely an interesting move for Polley and opposite one of the strongest actresses of this era, both Rogen and Silverman will have to be at the top of their respective games. Has Silverman ever even done any straight up drama?

Shooting will begin this summer in Toronto for what will be Polley’s follow up to 2006’s “Away From Her.” No word on who will play Seth yet, we’re rooting for someone tall, dark and handsome like Jim Sturgess.
