Charlize Theron Discovers The Politics Of Dancing In Clip From ‘Atomic Blonde’

I’m not sure I really understand Universal‘s marketing strategy for “Atomic Blonde,” which sees one big clip from the film released each week, but I guess whatever works. I’d prefer just to get a taste from the trailer and watch the action movie unfold at the multiplex, but I suppose when you’re competing against mega-franchises like Marvel, you can’t play coy. Either way, a new preview from the movie has landed.

In this latest look, Charlize Theron and Sofia Boutella flirt in a bar and kiss, but where the scene goes next takes a little bit of a twist. It’s an interesting, neon-soaked tease for the Cold War thriller which is promising some intense action setpieces. Here’s the official synopsis:

The crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Lorraine Broughton (Theron) is equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission. Sent alone into Berlin to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilized city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.

“Atomic Blonde” opens on July 28th.
