Got a Tip?

Marvel Studios’ Victoria Alonso Says There Are 31 Projects In Development Right Now At The Superhero Studio

Including “What If?” and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” Marvel Studios has released 29 films and TV series over the course of 13 years. And there are still two more films and one more series debuting before the end of 2021 to add to that total. That means, by the end of 2021, Marvel Studios will have released 32 projects total. But according to one of the studios’ top people, Victoria Alonso, there is almost that exact number of projects currently in development for the future.

In a recent interview with Argentinian radio station 221 Radio, Marvel Studios executive Victoria Alonso teased the future slate of the MCU. And seriously, if you thought there was already enough Marvel Studios stuff on the horizon, you really don’t have any idea exactly how much superhero stuff the folks over there are truly working on.

When talking about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Alonso revealed that the studio is currently working on 31 separate projects that are in development. Yes, thirty-one. Three. One. If she’s speaking about future projects and not things that have already been released in 2021, which it sounds like she is, then that means there are a ton more film and TV series that aren’t even announced that Marvel Studios is already in development on.

Currently, on the TV side of things, there are nine series that have been announced but haven’t debuted yet including series such as “Hawkeye,” “Ms. Marvel,” “She-Hulk,” “Moon Knight,” and others. When we talk about the films, there are currently nine more in Phase 4, ending with “Fantastic Four,” with two additional films that are seemingly going to show up in Phase 5 (“Captain America 4” and “Blade”). Combined, that means we know of 21 series and films that are in development.

So, that said, there are still at least 10 more films and TV series that are likely in development that fans have no clue about. You have to assume one of those is probably a version of “Young Avengers” and possibly a new regular “Avengers” film. Other than those, there are a few sequels that will likely happen and then some surprises, for sure. But one thing is certain, the Marvel Studios superhero factory is going to pump out products for years and decades to come.
