Dave Grohl Would Cast Shelley Duvall As Himself In Kurt Cobain Biopic

With the Kurt Cobain biopic potentially in the hands of “The Messenger” writer-director Oren Moverman, People Magazine decided to ask Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl who he’d cast to play himself in the upcoming film.

So which hardcore actor or rocker did the Grohl want to portray him, potentially carry on his legacy and live through his name for years to come?

“I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m crossing my fingers that Shelley Duvall plays me,” Grohl quipped. “Shelley Duvall in ‘The Shining,’ that is my face, you cannot get any closer than that. I am probably the least manly dude that you have ever met in your life, so why not have Shelley Duvall play me?”

Grohl even has tips for the hair and make up team on how to make his dream could come true, noting that they’d simply need to “put a beard on her [as] Cate Blanchett did it in the Dylan movie!”

You know what? From the looks of it, they probably wouldn’t even need the Blanchett beard. Funny though. When was the last time Duvall appeared in a movie? Didn’t she retire long ago?
