Jason Segel and John Michael Higgins have joined the cast of Jake Kasdan’s “Bad Teacher.”
The film stars Cameron Diaz as a foul-mouthed, gold-digging seventh-grade teacher who sets her sights on a colleague, Lucy Punch, who is dating the school’s model teacher.
Segel will play a gym teacher at the school while Higgins will portray the principal in the script by “The Office” alum and upcoming “Ghostbusters 3” scribes Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky. Production begins next month in L.A.
Meanwhile, the Farrelly Brothers’ “Hall Pass” has once again added two more cast members in the form of Nicky Whelan and Derek Waters in the Owen Wilson led story about a husband who earns a ‘hall pass’ from his wife which allows him to engage in extra marital affairs.
Waters plays a barista/DJ romantic rival to Wilson’s protagonist while Whelan, a former Australia swimsuit model, will obviously play a potential ‘hall pass’ credit for Wilson.
Jason Sudeikis, Jenna Fischer, Stephen Merchant and J.B. Smoove also co-star in the script scribed by the Farrellys along with Pete Jones and Kevin Barnett.
