Thespian and auteur Madonna is set get behind the camera for her first directing gig to follow her debut, the largely panned “Filth & Wisdom.”
“W.E.,” is a period based biopic “about the affair between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson that led to the Brit royal abdicating the throne to marry his divorcee lover.” So wait, Madonna doing a costume drama? That doesn’t sound right. We’re sure Madge will figure out a way to have some gratuitous nudity and somebody like Willem Dafoe doing weird things with a candle. Alek Keshishian, who directed “Truth Or Dare” and the Joe-Pesci-is-a-homeless-guy movie “With Honors” has written the script.
The recently Academy Award nominated actress Vera Farmiga seems to have gone delirious from awards season fever and is actually considering starring in this thing. We hope her agent (who should know better than even bringing the actress with ten yards of any film that’s Madonna related) tells her to run far, far away from this.
