‘Road Diary’ Trailer: A Look Into A Nearly Fifty-Year-Old Bruce Springsteen-Led E. Street Band

The “Born to Run” singer has still got it with another documentary on the way. To be specific, “Road Diary.” With this documentary, it’s less an on-the-road concert and more an examination of how far the E. Street bands have come, with Bruce Springsteen himself narrating. Though, as previously stated, an examination in many ways, the documentary nonetheless will show behind-the-scenes footage of Springsteen’s World Tour of 2023-2024 and the preparation involved while seemingly showing us much more than that for a band bonded for almost half a century.

The documentary stars, of course, Springsteen along with the E Street Band. It is directed by his longtime film collaborator Thom Zimny, who also directed Springsteen’s previous massively successful documentary, “Western Stars.” In a way, it seems “Road Diary” is an assembly of all that’s come before.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band offer the most in-depth look ever at the creation of their legendary live performances, including footage of band rehearsals, backstage moments, rare archival clips, and personal reflections from Springsteen himself. Credits: “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band” was directed by Springsteen’s longtime collaborator, Emmy® and GRAMMY Award winner Thom Zimny, and produced by Bruce Springsteen, Jon Landau, Thom Zimny, Adrienne Gerard, and Sean S.

Compared to his other documentaries, this one seems to be not only a celebration but rather an understanding of how a group could keep it together for that long. What has made the group so willed, and how have they evolved with age?
