Rory Culkin, adult film director? That’s the set-up, kind of, for Adam Sigal‘s next picture, “Skinemax.” Deadline reports that Culkin stars in the early ’90s-set comedy about a failing indie film director who starts working in the softcore porn industry and strikes up an unlikely friendship with his popular starlet in the process. Paris Jackson co-stars in the film, which just wrapped shooting in Budapest.

Along with Culkin and Jackson, “Skinemax” also stars the inimitable Crispin Glover, Olver Trevena, Will Peltz, Mark Boone Jr., and GaTa. Jared P-Smith, Vladislav Lapidus, Zac Coats, Sierra Nowak, and Marne Altman round out the main cast.
Jon Wroblewski and Christian Sosa produce “Skinemax” via Roosevelt Film Lab, David Treatment via Grapevine Films, and Trevena through Ollywood Meida. Executive producers include Dane and Elizabeth Fiori, Lars and Janice Letonoff, Michael Santos, Christian Sheedy, Dalas Lamberson. Maxwell Johnson also executive produces through Grapevine, as does Andre Champagne via Passcode.
“Skinemax” is a big starring role for Culkin, who’s other work includes “Lords Of Chaos, “Scream 4,” Kogonada‘s “Columbus, and “You Can Count On Me,” among others. Culkin’s recent TV work includes “Under The Banner Of Heaven,” “Swarm,” and “Black Mirror.”
As for Jackson, she also stars in “Swarm,” with other TV credits in “American Horror Stories,” “Star,” and “Scream: The TV Series.” Her most recent film role was in “Gringo.”
Writer-director Sigal’s most recent film was last year’s dark comedy “Nandor Fodor And The Talking Mongoose,” starring Simon Pegg, Minnie Driver, and Christopher Lloyd. Other credits include “Chariot,” “Stakeout,” and “When The Starlight Ends.”
If post-production on “Skinemax” is swift, expect it on a streamer sometime in Q2 2025.
