Later this month, audiences will be graced with the grand return of action filmmaker Gareth Evans (“The Raid”) with “Havoc,” a new hard-boiled action-focused thriller at Netflix that sees British actor Tom Hardy (“MobLand”) playing a grizzled detective named Walker beating the bees out of a wave of bad guys in and outside of the criminal underworld.
With that in mind, the streamer has launched a new action-packed trailer to help promote the pic before subscribers can finally watch it on April 25, after the movie has taken 3-4 years before being released to the public.
The rest of the “Havoc” cast built around Hardy includes Jessie Mei Li, Justin Cornwell, Quelin Sepulveda, Luis Guzmán, Michelle Waterson, Sunny Pang, Jim Caesar, Xelia Mendes-Jones, Yeo Yann Yann, Timothy Olyphant, and Forest Whitaker.
An official synopsis for “Havoc” via Netflix:
Walker (Tom Hardy) is a bruised detective fighting his way through the criminal underworld threatening to engulf his entire city. In the aftermath of a drug deal gone wrong, Walker finds himself with a number of factions on his tail; a vengeful crime syndicate, a crooked politician, as well as his fellow cops. When attempting to rescue the politician’s estranged son, whose involvement in the drug deal starts to unravel a deep web of corruption and conspiracy, he is forced to confront the demons of his past.
Hardy has been quite the busy fella pumping out three “Venom” solo films for Sony Pictures with the Guy Ritchie-directed crime series “MobLand” on Paramount+ and has hinted that a second season of his period drama “Taboo” is most likely in the works, too.
You can watch that new “Havoc” trailer below, and we can’t wait to see Hardy knocking out and shooting up chumps during his latest feature outing.
