‘The Hand That Rocks The Cradle’ Trailer: Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Maika Monroe Star In Michelle Garza Cervera’s Remake Arriving October 22 On Hulu

Next month sees the release of Hulu‘s new take on “The Hand That Rocks The Cradle” from director Michelle Garza Cervera, which boasts an impressive cast led by actresses Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“Fargo”) and Maika Monroe (“Longlegs”). A trailer has made its way to us to share, as the domestic thriller is being remade for a new generation.

Based on screenwriter Amanda Silver‘s 1992 thriller helmed by Curtis Hanson and starring “Risky Business” actress Rebecca De Mornay, it is penned by Micah Bloomberg, with the rest of the cast in the new iteration featuring Raúl Castillo, Martin Starr, Mileiah Vega, Riki Lindhome, and Shannon Cochran.

An official logline for the new thriller courtesy of Hulu:

Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as Caitlin Morales, an upscale suburban mom who brings a new nanny, Polly Murphy (Maika Monroe), into her home, only to discover she is not the person she claims to be.

A producing team put together for the remake consists of Michael Schaefer, Mike LaRocca, and Ted Field, alongside executive producers Michael Napoliello, Maria Frisk, and Seth William Meier.
