Songs like this are why we want nothing to do with soundtrack/movie tie-ins, lord.
Tim Burton’s “Alice In Wonderland,” was scored by Danny Elfman (naturally), but there’s an accompanying happy-meal-like music tie-in called called, Almost Alice — essentially an”inspired-by” soundtrack and will hit shelves March 2nd filled with emo pop punk that has absolutely nothing to do with the movie (All-American Rejects, Postal Service rip-off outfit, Owl City, All Time Low, Mark Hoppus with Pete Wentz, etc.), other than the gothy-emo, woe-is-me rockers probably all identify with the sadsack, black-clad misfits of Tim Burton films (hmm, is this why we dislike his films?).
The film’s first single, “Alice (Underground)” performed by Avril Lavigne is out now. Listen below, best of luck with that.
Tim Burton’s 3D version of the “Alice In Wonderland” stars Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Helana Bonham Carter and more. It hits theaters March 5 and this writer is regretting not placing it in our Least Anticipated Films of 2010 list (was overruled/was trying to be optimistic).
