Acclaimed filmmaker and music video director Anton Corbijn is back with a new thriller titled “A Talent For Murder” that boasts a trio of high-profile actors in the lead roles with Oscar-winner Helen Mirren (“MobLand”), Alden Ehrenreich (“Weapons”), and Olivia Cooke (“House of the Dragon”). One of the more visually striking modern directors, we couldn’t be more excited about Corbijn having a new scripted feature in theaters.
Audiences won’t have to wait too much longer to view Corbijn’s latest effort, as we’ve learned that the pic has landed an official theatrical release date on October 23, an award-season-friendly spot in the fall.

The official synopsis provided by the film’s distributor, Bleecker Street:
A twisty thriller based on the 2014 play Switzerland by prolific Australian playwright, screenwriter, and novelist Joanna Murray-Smith, who adapted it for the screen. The film follows a callow young literary agent from New York (Ehrenreich) who is sent to Switzerland to persuade celebrated writer Patricia Highsmith (Mirren) to write one final installment of the Ripley anthology.
Magnolia Mae’s Gabrielle Tana and LD Entertainment’s Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon are serving as producers alongside Brouhaha’s Troy Lum and Andrew Mason; Jim Robison and Kurt Martin for Lunar Pictures; Carolyn Marks Blackwood for Magnolia Mae Films; Karl Spoerri at Switzerland’s Zurich Avenue; and Andrea Occhipinti for Italian banner Lucky Red. “A Talent For Murder” was financed by Head Gear Films, Metrol Technology, Vacancy Films, and LD Entertainment.
Corbijn’s previous credits include the fantastic Joy Division biopic “Control,” the George Clooney-led slow-burn assassin drama “The American,” and an adaptation of the John Le Carre-penned spy novel “A Most Wanted Man” that featured Philip Seymour Hoffman, Rachel McAdams, Willem Dafoe, Robin Wright, Grigoriy Dobrygin, Homayoun Ershadi, and Daniel Brühl.
Hopefully, a first-look trailer for the tantalizing thriller is just around the corner, as we cannot wait to get a glimpse of footage from the movie.
