Listen: The Entire 'Where The Wild Things Are' Soundtrack By Karen O & The Kids

We already gave you a sneak-peek listen to three songs from Karen O & The Kids’ soundtrack to Spike Jonze’s “Where The Wild Things Are” over the weekend, but now you can listen to the full soundtrack in it’s entirety — all 14 tracks below (use the scroll bar to see every song).

As previously reported the soundtrack features a super group of indie musicians that include Bradford Cox of Deerhunter, Yeah Yeah Yeahs/Folk Implosion collaborator Imaad Wasif, Jack Lawrence of The Raconteurs and Dead Weather, Aaron Hemphill, the Bird and the Bee’s Greg Kurstin, both members of the YYYs, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase and many many more. As we wrote on the weekend, the music featured within is a collection of child-like lullabies, feral little jubilant pop songs (“Capsize”), melancholy piano tracks (“Worried Shoes”) and a few freak folk-y like droney dirges (“Hidaway”). Can’t wait to see how it all fits in the music. We kinda hope they stick to more instrumental moments, because those are generally our favorite pieces.

The soundtrack is in stores today, September 29 and the film hits theaters October 16.

In related ‘Wild Things’ ephemera, you should check out this interview with production designer K.K. Barrett that is over at Cinematical that was shot by VBS.TV. He’s worked with Jonze on most of his films plus Sofia Coppola, Michel Gondry and David O. Russell. We’ve tried to embed below, but believe it’s having difficulties displaying (we’re not seeing it). Spike Jonze is one of the creative director’s of VBS.TV which is a subsidiary of the Vice magazine media conglomerate. So Vice has set up another site, WhereTheWildThingsAre.Viceland.com that presents 24 artists inspired by ‘Wild Things.’ It’s a pretty cool site and you should give it a deeper look.
