Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou (“House of Flying Daggers,” “Curse of the Golden Flower”) has just started shooting his next movie, “San Qiang Pai An Jing Qi.” Translated as “The Stunning Case Of The Three Gunshots,” the comedy-drama stars actor Sun Honglei, comedian Xiao Shenyang and actress Yan Ni.
The plot is being kept under wraps, but the AP and The Hollywood Reporter says the director of “Raise The Red Lantern” is actually remaking the first Coen Brothers movie, “Blood Simple.”
We suppose its high time other countries started borrowing from us, but does anyone think Yimou has the comic sensibilities to redo the Coens? Should be interesting…
