Angelina Jolie is set to star in Fox 2000’s adaptation of Patricia Cornwell’s series of books based on medical examiner, Dr. Kay Scarpetta. With up to 16 novels based on the character, the studio is hoping to spurn a ‘Bourne’-like franchise though these films are reportedly more suspense thrillers described as being in the vein of “Silence Of The Lambs” and “Seven.”
It’s too bad, we were hoping for something more along the lines of Angela Lansbury set in the caffeinated “CSI” world. [Variety]
