Best Worst Excuse Ever: Woody Harrelson Uses “Still In Character” Defense For Attacking “Zombie” Paparazzi

In light of a recent assault on a TMZ photographer, Woody Harrelson has brilliantly defended his actions by claiming he was still in character and “mistook [the paparazzi] for a zombie.”

In a statement issued by his publicist, Harrelson explained that he had just “wrapped a movie called ‘Zombieland,’ in which [he] was constantly under assault by zombies, then flew to New York, still very much in character.”

The video of the attack was posted on TMZ last week and shows how to defend yourself against zombies Harrelson attacking the unnamed paparazzi on three separate occasions. The photographer strangely follows the actor after each attack repeatedly yelling “Woody, this is assault, Woody you just assaulted me,” and “‘I’m being chased by Woody.” In 2006, Harrelson similarly assaulted a TMZ photographer outside an L.A. nightclub – so maybe his “in character” defense has some validity, after all he did just finish playing a paranoid nut in “A Scanner Darkly.” The pap sued for $2.5 million dollars.

Filming for “Zombieland” wrapped last Wednesday and stars, along with Harrelson, Mila Kunis, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, Emma Stone and Amber Heard. The film will see a release on October 9.
