Update: Gary Oldman Not In 'Iron Man 2' Terrence Howard Says Marvel Wanted Don Cheadle From Day One

Update: JoBlo has talked to the Gary Oldman’s manager, Douglas Urbanski and he says, IESB’s report is totally incorrect; Oldman is not in the film.

Previously: Has Gary Oldman joined the cast of “Iron Man 2”? He’s been spotted on set which is leaving some to believe he’s part of the cast now which isn’t entirely unreasonable speculation. However, he could just be visiting as he is currently in the middle of shooting “Book of Eli” in New Mexico for the Hughes Brothers which stars Denzel Washington. [IESB]

Meanwhile, “Iron Man” actor Terrence Howard (who was replaced by Don Cheadle), who recently told Sci-Fi wire that Marvel Studios betrayed him with the ‘IM2’ contract, continues to talk candidly about his exit from the film.

He told MTV today that his replacement is the guy he thinks they wanted all along.

“I think they always wanted Don Cheadle from the very stary and it’s nice that they get what they want. They could be a little nicer about it. You don’t make 800 million dollars and then try and shake everyone down. That’s not nice.”

He again, reiterated that money was part of the issue at hand (he evidently wanted too much and Marvel simply replaced him instead of renegotiating, though there were ugly rumors placed in the media that he was difficult on set). “They did the same thing to Gwyneth [Paltrow],” he said about the financial lowballing. “They came in strong, heavy-handed. You know, life pays everyone back.”
