According to Production Weekly’s Twitter Page, Kevin Smith’s “A Couple Of Dicks” will begin filming in May. The film will mark the first time Smith has helmed a project that was not written by him. It is also his debut feature with Warner Brothers.
While fans have criticized this as a sign of ‘selling out’, Smith revealed that he was in fact earning less money for this project than for “Dogma,” a film that is now ten years old. Interestingly, as we called for Smith to resist the temptation of justifying himself to the Internet, he has recently come out in an interview declaring his new-found ignorance for negativity aimed at him online.
‘Dicks’ (sorry, had to do it) tells the story of two buddy cops, played by Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan, who are tracking down a rare mint condition baseball card. It has a tentative release date of January 29, 2010.
