As promised here it is the “Where The Wild Things Are” trailer from Ellen, and wow it gives us a little bit of chills with the song. You’ll note that this version of the Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” sounds a little different from the album version on 2004’s Funeral. Exclusively written for the trailer? [ed. we’re finding out; we think half so].
Again, as reported the only words spoken in the trailer are by Carol, as voiced by James Gandolfini and he gently says, “I didn’t want to wake you up, but I wanted to show you something.”
“Inside all of us is hope. Inside all of us is fear. Inside all of us is adventure. Inside all of us is a Wild Thing,” reads the trailer’s tagline.
God, this looks GOOD and very magically alive. We knew this is what Spike Jonze was aiming for based on his various interviews and the screenplay: the beauty of childhood in all its scariness, wonder and glory — it feels a lot like the script co-written by Dave Eggers which is a huge relief. Jonze’s “Where The Wild Things Are” hits theaters October 16. Mark it in your calendar now.[via WTWTA] The trailer is also on Apple if you want to watch it in all it’s HD gorgeousness. As noted months ago, but to reiterate, Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Carter Burwell (the composer who’s worked on all of Jonze’s films so far) have written the musical score to the film.
