Lawyers in the Roman Polanski trial met today with L.A. Judge Peter Espinoza. And we’re back to square one again. Espinoza refused to drop the case based on alleged judicial misconduct and wrongdoing. It’s once again: return to the U.S. and give up your fugitive status and we’ll review your case. The Judge set the date back til May 7 to give Polanski and his attorneys some time to think about it.
The Judge hints that if Polanski returns he has a good shot at settling the matter, claiming that yes, the misconduct is “hard to contest” and if the filmmaker returned the evidence that “substantial misconduct occurred” would be considered. “Wanted and Desired” documentarian, Marina Zenovich is closely following this trial’s denouement.
