Amazon Reveals Which Lee Child Novel 'Reacher' Season 3 Adapts, Maria Sten To Return As Neagley

Well, Season 2 of Prime Video‘s “Reacher” is done premiering, and it’s another runaway hit for the streamer. So obviously it’s no surprise that “Reacher” Season 3 is already filming, and will likely premiere in December like last season. But which Lee Childs novel will the new season cover? That’s been a mystery until now.

Variety reports that “Reacher” Season 3 will adapt the seventh book in Childs’ Jack Reacher series, “Persuader.” Here’s a logline for the new season: “Reacher must go undercover to rescue an informant held by a haunting foe from his past.” And if you want a more in-depth synopsis, read on, but beware of spoilers. “Persuader” sees Reacher go undercover unofficially for the DEA to infiltrate a drug runner’s family. But once Reacher wins the kingpin’s trust, he realizes they’re working for an old adversary who offed a woman in Reacher’s military unit ten years before. Now Reacher has two scores to settle.

Alan Ritchson is back to star as Jack Reacher once more, but Variety also reports that Maria Sten also returns in Season 3 as Frances Neagley. Part of Reacher’s old Army outfit, the Special Investigators, Neagley is a privately contracted corporate security professional who’s served as the right-hand-woman for Reacher the past two seasons. It comes with little surprise that Sten is back in the fold for Season 3, but stay tuned for if more Special Investigators will be back, too. And fans will always hope that Willa Fitzgerald‘s Roscoe Conklin will return or at least cameo next season too.

Nick Santora developed “Reacher” for Prime Video and serves as executive producer and showrunner on the series. Other executive producers include Don GrangerScott SullivanMick Betancourt, as well as David EllisonDana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television. “Reacher” is a Amazon Studios, Skydance, and Paramount Television Studios production.  Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid act as executives-in-charge through Skydance. And star Ritchson joins the executive producing team for Season 3.

As noted earlier, “Reacher” Season 3 is filming now in Toronto, so expect a premiere on Prime Video before 2024 closes.
