As if “Wonder Woman” didn’t have enough weight on its shoulders with the hopes of being the first DC Films project to resonate with both moviegoers and critics, it’s also the first female-led superhero movie, with a woman behind the camera. It’s a high bar to reach, but Patty Jenkins has surrounded herself with no shortage of talent to help her make a hit.

Gal Gadot leads the movie as the Amazon warrior, with Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Danny Huston, Ewen Bremner, Elena Anaya, Florence Kasumba and Saïd Taghmaoui providing support in the story that sees Diana emerge from her bubble and face the horrors of the outside world. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
