As has been the case with all of the previous seasons of Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology series “American Horror Story,” little has been released in terms of actual information regarding what’s to come. There have been plenty of cryptic teasers, hints at character romances, and, frankly, one of the most off-putting television posters I’ve seen in a long while.

What we do know is that “American Horror Story: Cult” will be set in Michigan and that the Trump-Clinton election will be used as a jumping off point for some of the horror that takes place, giving a voice to those who don’t have one “in our culture” as Murphy noted in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Already on it’s seventh season, “American Horror Story” has run the gamut of quality over the years, from a curiously intriguing (while, arguably, not great) first season that set everything into motion, a genuinely fantastic season two set in an asylum and after that, opinions vary over if the show ever picked up its original speed, even with a cameo from Lady Gaga later on. This has been especially obvious as show creator Murphy has set his sights on other projects, such as the enthusiastically received “American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson” and “Feud.”
Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner, Cheyenne Jackson, Alison Pill, Colton Haynes, Adina Porter and Lena Dunham star in “American Horror Story: Cult” which launches on September 5th.
