For those who don’t know, “American Psycho” is a story about Patrick Bateman, a very successful businessman who also has a dark side. A side that includes butchering and killing people. He also has a deep love of music. The novel takes place in the age of excess—the 1980s. Scott Z. Burns is the writer of the new adaptation. It’s unclear if it will also be a period piece or if they’re updating it for today.
Butler is no stranger to high-profile film projects. He broke out in a big way thanks to his Oscar-nominated role in Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis.” Butler has also appeared in films such as “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” “The Bikeriders,” and “Dune: Part Two.” He’s next going to be seen in films such as “Eddington” and “Caught Stealing.” Those films are directed by Ari Aster and Darren Aronofsky.
Guadagnino is coming off a very prolific year, which saw the release of two critically acclaimed films— “Challengers” and “Queer.” Both films are expected to be players in this year’s awards season. Both recently earned Golden Globes nominations.
