From aspiring comedian who appeared on the reality series “Last Comic Standing” to best buds with Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Schumer has come a long way. Last summer, she made it clear her comedy could transition quite easily to the big screen, writing and leading Judd Apatow‘s “Trainwreck.” And with a Mother’s Day comedy and the PTSD drama “Thank You For Your Service” slated for next year, the actress is finding more avenues for her talent. And now she’s adding another pitch-perfect project to her plate.
Variety reports that Schumer will star in “Who Invited Her?” Reese Witherspoon will be producing the picture, initially penned by John Phillips (“Dirty Grandpa“) and Sascha Rothchild (“The Carrie Diaries“), and set for a rewrite by Tami Sagher (“Inside Amy Schumer“), that will follow a young woman who insists on going to her best dude’s bachelor party. Presumably hilarity and feelings ensue.
There’s no director attached yet, but given Schumer’s rising status, I won’t be surprised if some bigger names kick the tires.
