Hollywood darling Anne Hathaway is certainly doing her best to shed the idea of her as a rom-com queen. With lensing almost complete on Christopher Nolan‘s “The Dark Knight Rises” where she’ll take on the action-packed role of Selina Kyle/Catwoman, the actress is now set to follow that up with a starring role in paranoid-thriller “Puzzler.”
The project will team Hathaway with her producer boyfriend Adam Schulman and, while little is known of the story itself, the “Three Days of the Condor“-esque script comes from Karl Gajdusek. He’s an on-the-rise writer who was recently brought on to touch up Joseph Kosinski‘s Tom Cruise-led “Oblivion,” has F. Gary Gary and Sam Worthington teaming for his adaptation of “The Last Days of American Crime” and is working with young Euro-helmer Baltasar Kormákur on a Viking epic.
Sarah Perlman and Stefan Sonnenfeld are also producing with Paramount already on board courtesy of a first look deal with Sonnenfeld. No word on where this lies on Hathaway’s calendar but with the actress slated to show off her pipes in “Les Miserables” as Fantine later this year and only the gestating Judy Garland biopic and a Peter Sollett rom-com in the works, 2012 could be a go.
