What secrets surround an unexpected wedding? “Another Simple Favor” brings Stephanie Smothers to Capri for a surprising reason: Emily Nelson’s nuptials. The latter is free from prison and well on her way to becoming a wealthy businessman’s bride. What follows is a warped occasion full of the usual pageantries and a bit of murder for old times’ sake. “A Simple Favor” director Paul Feig returns to helm this highly anticipated sequel. Jessica Sharzer, who adapted the original ‘Favor,’ and Laeta Kalogridis are co-writers on the project based on characters by Darcey Bell.
Fans of the first film will be happy to see the return of lead actors Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, and Henry Golding. Kendrick and Lively won praise for their performances, which is something many viewers are eager to revisit in the upcoming sequel. New co-stars include Elizabeth Perkins, Michele Morrone, Alex Newell, Elena Sofia Ricci, and Allison Janney.

Jennifer Booth, Jessica Sharzer, and Marco Valerio Pugini serve as executive producers on “Another Simple Favor.” The film will premiere at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival, taking the coveted opening night slot. It launches globally on Prime Video on May 1. Watch the new trailer below.
