With “Batman Vs. Superman” pushed back to 2016 for the official reason being that the studio wants to make it as awesome as possible, it was inevitable that some other player was going to take the vacant weekend. And Marvel has done just that in what could be seen as a bit of payback.
They’ve moved Edgar Wright‘s “Ant-Man” to July 17, 2015 from its previous date of July 31st. It will now square off against Warner Bros. own ‘Batman’ replacement, Joe Wright‘s “Pan.” Is this a middle finger from Marvel to WB for putting “Batman Vs. Superman” on the same May 6, 2016 weekend as their untitled superhero flick? Surely no one in Hollywood is that petty, right? [Variety]
