Well, the Berlin International Film Festival is quickly shaping up to have one of the best line-ups in recent history. Many films pundits had pegged for Cannes debuts are premiering in Germany instead. Yesterday, Werner Herzog’s much-anticipated “Queen Of The Desert” was announced as part of the festival, and today Anton Corbijn’s equally anticipated “Life,” starring Dane DeHaan and Robert Pattison, was added to the festival as well.
Other additions include the international premiere of “Selma,” the Helen Mirren picture “Woman In Gold,” co-starring Ryan Reynolds and Daniel Brühl, the Brian Wilson drama “Love & Mercy” starring Paul Dano and John Cusack as the famous Beach Boy at two different points in his life, and more. New additions below.
Additions in the forum section are pretty notable too. Jem Cohen’s most recent film “Counting” tips its hat to the work of the late auteur Chris Marker and takes a personal, essayistic stroll through different metropolises of our world in 13 chapters. Also making its debut is Alex Ross Perry’s new film “Queen of Earth” which stars Elisabeth Moss and Katherine Waterston as two best friends who have reached a turning point. Other
new films include pictures by Joaquim Pinto, Guy Maddin and many more.
