Got a Tip?

Anton Yelchin Joins Jim Jarmusch’s Vampire Film ‘Only Lovers Left Alive’

nullGiven how long this film has been brewing, we'd been worried that like so many projects, it might be stuck in development hell or have trouble finding financing. But the good news is that Jim Jarmusch's vampire film "Only Lovers Left Alive" is still happening, and has added one more name to the already fantastic cast.

Continuing his switch-up between blockbuster fare ("Star Trek") and indie projects ("Like Crazy"), Anton Yelchin has joined Mia Wasikowska, John Hurt and Tilda Swinton in the film. Details on the project are scarce, but the story is said to revolve around "a centuries-long love affair between two star-crossed vampires." Sounds great, and frankly, we're just curious and excited as hell to see what Jarmusch's take on the genre will be. Will be an existential jaunt like "The Limits Of Control" or something a bit more comic like "Ghost Dog: The Way Of Samurai"?

Production on the film begins this summer with shooting to take place in Germany, and our guess is that the Cannes Film Festival already has a slot open for the helmer next spring. [Deadline
