Got a Tip?

Chris Evans, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson & More Join New Thriller From ‘Christine’ Director Antonio Campos

Not only is fall festival season the time for lucky film fans to see some of the best movies of the year, but it’s also a time for actors, producers, and filmmakers to sell their latest project to studios. And while we’ve already heard about a couple huge projects to be on the table during this season, the latest major film package features one of the bet up and coming directors leading an all-star cast in what seems to be a pretty incredible story.

According to Deadline, director Antonio Campos has lined up Tom Holland, Chris Evans, Robert Pattinson, Mia Wasikowska, and Tracy Letts for his upcoming film “The Devil All the Time,” which is going to be shopped around during this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. For those keeping score, that’s two Avengers, a sparkly vampire, and Alice of ‘Wonderland’ fame all in the same cast, all coming from the director of the acclaimed film “Christine.” Not too shabby at all.

The plot of “The Devil All the Time” follows a man and his teenage son, who live in the small town of Knockemstiff, Ohio. While desperately attempting to save his dying wife’s life, a man turns to prayer and sacrifice, as his son (Holland) turns from a bullied kid into a man of action. Yes, that’s vague, but that’s all we’ve got for now. The film also is said to feature a preacher, a serial killer couple, and a corrupt local sheriff, played by Captain America, aka Chris Evans.

As mentioned above, “The Devil All the Time” comes from director Campos, who is also co-writing the script along with Paulo Campos, based on the novel by Donald Ray Pollock. Campos burst onto the filmmaking scene with his first two films, “Afterschool” and “Simon Killer.” However, it was “Christine,” which starred Rebecca Hall and Michael C. Hall, that really put him on the map.

There’s no word on a release date for “The Devil All the Time,” but production is expected to begin in February 2019.
