‘Appendage’ Trailer: Hadley Robinson & Emily Hampshire Embrace Their Inner Demons For Hulu Horror In October

Corporate synergy, aka the 20th Century Studios deal with Hulu, continues with the made-for-Hulu Halloween horror film, “Appendage” (aka studios are always looking for content on their platforms, Hulu needs content, and 20th Century Studios, formerly known as 20th Century Fox, still make movies from time to time). The title is “Appendage,” and it’s about a young girl who, following a low point where she hits a breaking point, her inner thoughts physicalize into a monstrous creature that threatens to upend her life.

The film stars Hadley Robinson, Kausar Mohammed, Emily Hampshire, and Brandon Myc. “Appendage” is Anna Zlokovic’s feature directorial debut, based on her 2021 short of the same name. And that’s the hopeful and positive side to streaming films like this; clearly, the studios are looking at this as a place to spot new talent and give them a platform.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Hannah (Hadley Robinson), a young fashion designer, seems fine on the surface but secretly struggles with debilitating self-doubt. Soon, these buried feelings begin to make Hannah physically sick and sprout into a ferocious growth on her body: The Appendage. As Hannah’s health declines, The Appendage begins to fuel her anxieties – her perceived lack of talent at work, her deteriorating relationships with her boyfriend and best friend, and her parents’ lack of love and understanding. At her breaking point, Hannah makes a shocking discovery—there are others out there like her.

“Appendage” was developed by 20th Digital Studio, with David Worthen Brooks, Arbi Pedrossian, and Jenna Cavelle serving as executive producers. Also serving as producers are Hadley Robinson, Anna Zlokovic, and Alex Familian. Production services were carried out by the film’s producer Katrina Kudlick through her production company, Fever Dream Studios. Emma Buerklin serves as co-producer.

“Appendage” hits Hulu exclusively on October 2. Watch the trailer below.
