Saoirse Ronan is about to become a horrible teacher. Well, maybe not in real life—though her future plans are completely up to her—but definitely in the new film, “Bad Apples.”
According to Deadline, Saoirse Ronan is set to star in Jonatan Etzler’s upcoming English-language debut, “Bad Apples.” The film is based on Rasmus Lindgren’s novel, “De Oönskade,” and tells the story of a struggling teacher who finds herself in a tricky predicament when she traps her worst student in her own house. However, things get more complicated when her class excels without the influence of that bad apple student. So, the moral of the story is clearly that terrible children need to be imprisoned and denied education, right?

Ronan has been very busy, as of late. Last year, she starred in the film, “See How They Run.” This year, she’s appeared in “Foe” and has two more films on the horizon with “Blitz” and “The Outrun.” She’s one of the best young actors working today (yes, she still counts as a young actor, as she is currently only 29, which is crazy to think), having earned a whopping four Oscar nominations for her performances.
As mentioned, “Bad Apples” marks the English-language debut for filmmaker Etzler. The filmmaker’s directorial debut, “One More Time,” arrived on Netflix earlier this year.
It’s unclear when we might see “Bad Apples” appear on streaming or in theaters. The film is being shopped around at AFM this year. However, production is hoping to begin in spring 2024. If that’s the case, we can possibly see the film in late-2024 or, more likely, early 2025.
