Michael Fassbender. Marion Cotillard. "Macbeth." After that, just tell us where to show up. Well, it appears the location is the Cannes Film Festival, and following some new images yesterday, a fresh poster has arrived.
This one-sheet puts King Fassy front and center with a tagline — "The story was built on blood" — that would even make Bill Shakespeare pretty stoked. And, well, there’s not much else to tell you about this one, except this is a timeless tale being told with two of our favorite actors of the moment in the lead roles. The wild card is director Justin Kurzel, the man behind the grim "The Snowtown Murders," and we’re eager to see what kind of stamp he puts on it.
"Macbeth" doesn’t have a U.S. release date yet, but it’s probably safe to say that if the reception on the Croisette is strong, The Weinstein Company will be throwing this into their awards slate this year.
