Got a Tip?

Brad Pitt To Star In ‘End Of Watch’ Director David Ayer’s WWII Pic ‘Fury’

Brad PittAfter hunting down Nazis in Quentin Tarantino‘s “Inglourious Basterds,” it looks like Brad Pitt hasn’t yet gotten his kicks out of World War II. He’s returning to one of the defining moments in world history for a new movie, albeit one that is perhaps a bit more realistic.

Earlier this year it was reported that “End Of Watch” helmer David Ayer was preparing “Fury,” which had a pretty simple concept: set in 1945, it will center on the five-man crew of the tank Fury, who are locked in battle with a desperate German army. And now, Deadline reports that the leading man has been found in Pitt, who is in final negotiations. After a rocky studio experience with the upcoming “World War Z,” perhaps this is an attempt by Pitt to get back to something smaller (relatively) and at least freed of bottom line checking executives. Either way, it’s a pretty massive get for Ayer in what is already his most ambitious flick.

Undoubtedly, a name like Pitt will help lock down foreign sales and financing, so that planned fall shoot is pretty much good to go. But first, Ayer will put the finishing touches on his wrapped thriller “Ten” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam Worthington, Joe Manganiello, Terrence Howard and more and slated for release on January 24, 2014.
