‘Brave New World’: Anthony Mackie Shares Behind-The-Scenes Image & New Title For ‘Captain America 4’

Marvel Studios typically hates when set photos get leaked and fans around the world get a sneak peek at one of the upcoming films or TV shows. But it’s not so bad, I suppose, when someone from Marvel is actually doing the leaking, as is the case with Anthony Mackie giving people a behind-the-scenes look at the new “Captain America” film.

Not only did Anthony Mackie share an image of himself and co-star Harrison Ford on the set of the next “Captain America” feature, but he also revealed the revised title for the film, ‘Brave New World.’ When it was originally announced, “Captain America 4” was given the name, “Captain America: New World Order.” However, it appears Marvel Studios has thought twice about that title. No reason was given for the name change.

Title aside, the behind-the-scenes image shows Mackie in his full Captain America garb as he talks to Ford while they both look at a screen.

“When Harrison Ford tells you how kicking ass should look, you listen! LoL… Thanks for the on set wisdom and laughs my friend! Can’t wait to do it again…” Mackie shared on Instagram.

Not much is known about ‘Brave New World.’ We know the film is directed by Julius Onah and is the first feature to showcase Mackie as the new Cap, which he became by the end of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” We also know that Ford is set to take over for William Hurt, who sadly passed away, as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. In Marvel lore, Thunderbolt Ross is a government figure who goes on to eventually turns into the character known as Red Hulk. And as the name suggests, we are assuming he’s going to be a pivotal figure in the forthcoming “Thunderbolts,” also releasing next year.

Despite the change in title, “Captain America: Brave New World” does still retain its May 3, 2024 release date.
