There’s always a few fun surprise at SXSW thrown in and announced at the last minute. This year the Austin-based film festival will be the first folks to unveil footage of Sacha Baron Cohen’s much anticipated comedy “Brüno.”
“Jetzt check out eine kleine look at Brüno mit our special sneak peek at footage from Sacha Baron Cohen‘s follow up to his comedy classic, “Borat!”
And even better, according to the SXSW film festival, it’s not just open to RSVP press.
“AT the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar, Sunday, March 15, 11pm. You don’t need a badge, but we’re pretty sure you don’t need to be told to GET THERE EARLY! This is going to be huge, so make sure you don’t miss out!”
Ok, that screening is officially going to be a madhouse with lines around the block (probably). Good luck with that. “Brüno” was set for a May release, but got bumped back a few weeks ago to July 10, 2009. Defamer seems to think that long subtitle, “Delicious Journeys Through America”.. is total B.S. and there doesn’t seem to be any proof that it isn’t just that. PR and SXSW haven’t referred to the film with that sub-appellation at all. Footage from the film will be approximately 20 minutes.
