Woody Allen is not big on awards, but that’s not to say he doesn’t like a certain amount of attention. The filmmaker has been a fixture at Cannes, particularly in recent years, though his movies have always screened Out Of Competition. And so it goes with his latest, "Irrational Man." With a debut on the Croisette coming, the first poster and some new images have arrived.

Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, Jamie Blackley, and Parker Posey star in the movie about a university professor facing an existential crisis who finds himself rejuvenated when he falls into a relationship with his student. So yeah, pretty much a familiar tale from Allen, but the leads are certainly attractive, and when the writer/director is in top mode, it’s some of the best entertainment.
"Irrational Man" opens on July 17th.
