So, I know what you’re thinking. How can “Deadpool 2” compete with “Black Panther” as far as a quality superhero film soundtrack goes? I mean, “Black Panther” knocked it out of the park, with Kendrick Lamar putting together one of the best movie soundtracks of the last decade. Well, watch out Kendrick, Deadpool is bringing the heat…with Celine Dion!
That’s right, the first song released from the soundtrack you didn’t know you wanted until now is a new track from the “Titanic” singer, titled “Ashes,” and we have the music video for your enjoyment. Now, you may be thinking, this has to be some sort of parody song, right? Wrong! Dion plays it completely straight, as she sings a ballad that you might hear on any of her albums. The only difference here is the video features clips from “Deadpool 2,” and there’s a very talented dancer, in full Deadpool costume, doing an inspired modern dance routine around the singer.

Of course, being that the video is for a comic book film featuring a character that is a non-stop joke machine, the ending of the clip features a bit of a skit between Ryan Reynolds, as Deadpool, and Dion.
The next question you might have is, how does a Celine Dion ballad fit in the rest of the “Deadpool 2” soundtrack. Well, judging by the track listing, Dion fits in beautifully, as the selection of artists ranges from ‘80s hit-makers to Diplo. Needless to say, it’s an eclectic mix.
